In my experience dragon fruit is easy to grow from cuttings.
You can plant dragon fruit in a pot or directly into the ground.
I water my Dragon Fruit plants at least once a week and they are really happy plants.
Not too much water though otherwise, the roots will rot.
If you notice a bad spot developing on your dragon fruit plant, take a sharp, clean knife and carefully cut the bad spot out. The plant will fully heal and grow. The mark will still be visible, but it will fully recover from the intense operation 🙂
I have been growing my plants now for about two years, and I can’t wait for the first fruits to develop.
TIP: A great idea is to tag your dragon fruit cuttings immediately! It can get quite confusing to know which varieties are which as the plants look similar.
One variety I am looking for is the yellow dragon fruit… if you know of someone selling them at a reasonable price in South Africa, please let me know 🙂
I had no luck growing them from seed yet…
